"The story of two trucks falling in love, showing that fun and fuel efficiency are no longer an impossible match," is how Swedish manufacturer Volvo Trucks describes this ad campaign - what do you make of it? The footage was made to show what the Volvo FH with I-Save is all about – "reducing fuel consumption without compromising the joy of driving" – and was, as you'd imagine, carried out by professionals both behind the wheel and in front of the computer. Volvo has a reputation for some off-beat commercial campaigns, most notably when its Trucks division stood its president Roger Alm atop a 15-metre lorry stack to launch four new vehicles at once in a hair-raising stunt (https://addvertising.org/volvo-trucks-president-in-titanic-stunt-to-launch-new-vehicles). The company's 'A Love Story' is garnering generally favourable reviews, with comments praising its 'creative efficiency' and kooky humour factor.
