Luxury Italian automaker Ferrari gives a glimpse into some of the other activities it drives via its foundation and social programmes. Founder Enzo Ferrari left school early to work in his father's metal workshop, and in adult life became a strong proponent of technical training, founding a technical school in Maranello in 1945 dedicated to his son Dino. His legacy in this area as well as in the world of iconi cars continues - often as a blend: special auctions are a major contributor to the foundation's activities. RM Sotheby's auction house (via Google AI Overview) reports that a fundraiser last year saw a 2025 Ferrari Daytona SP3 'Tailor Made' sell for $26,000,000 - the highest-priced new Ferrari ever sold at auction. "Commissioned as a unique '599+1' addition to a completely sold-out production run, this bespoke hypercar [....] featured an asymmetrical exposed carbon fibre and Giallo Modena livery. 100% of the proceeds were directed to the Ferrari Foundation". This month, a 2026 Ferrari Luce 'Tailor Made' goes under the hammer: "RM Sotheby's is slated to auction Chassis 0, the first production chassis of Ferrari's highly anticipated and controversial first-ever all-electric hypercar program. Offered completely without reserve at the Monterey Auction, all hammer proceeds will fund the foundation's M-Tech Alfredo Ferrari hub and wider U.S. educational initiatives," says the auction house.
