The 'catastrophising' technique reflected in this ad deftly dismisses such profound issues as laughable through the nicely judged performances of its non-AI protagonists, Australian actor/producer Chris Hemsworth and model/actress Elsa Pataky. Amazon says Alexa+ can be playful as well as helpful: "This next-generation AI assistant delivers a natural, conversational experience that helps you manage your home, stay organized, discover entertainment, and connect with thousands of services".
