Spain's high street favourite Zara packs a creative punch in this campaign promoting its collection by John Galliano. The British designer, 65, was creative director at French luxury House Dior from 1996 to 2011, when a French court convicted him of anti-Semitic remarks. The Zara collaboration follows hot on the heels of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) cancelling a 2027 exhibition dedicated to Galliano as the controversy rumbles on. Zara, renowned for its finger-on-the-pulse approach to both fashion and advertising, stays true to form in shifting its stock fast - many items in the Galliano collection sold out in minutes, accompanied by a brisk trade in twice-the-price re-sale. The collection is described as: "Authored by Couturier John Galliano. Built from our Memory, Made for Now" by Zara. Galliano told Vogue that the idea of going in and treating their existing garments is an innovation. “I called it Zara’s archives…but in this fast age, what denotes an archive?”
