Active in many metropolitan areas worldwide, US mobility company Uber here takes a relatable everyday tale to promote its app. The company says it "highlights just how strongly mobility routines shape our daily decisions", and Uber "as a genuine option in situations where many people may never have considered using the app before". Founded in 2009 wih the idea of being a high-end black-car service booked via a mobile phone app, Uber has become a household name for services including food deliveries. This month it announced a partnership with autonomous vehicle developer Pony.ai to collaborate on the deployment of more than 2,000 Pony.ai Robotaxis across Europe. It's always been a rocky road for Uber to carve out its position as a popular alternative to traditional taxi service, given pushback from established taxi services and its model of relying on unlicensed drivers. In Germany, where this ad is based - and Uber is present in more than 90 cities - drivers must hold professional private-hire licenses (P-Schein) and drive vehicles that comply with strict German transport regulations. The ad is voiced by well-known actor Axel Milberg, whose delivery drives home the gentle humour.
