Britain's popular tabloid newspaper the Daily Mail was founded 124 years ago and in May this year became the biggest selling newspaper in the UK. This campaign, entitled ‘Helping Hand’, brings to life the £10M raised by the Daily Mail and its readers to donate vital PPE to the NHS and front line careworkers. The catchy, upbeat approach references the general public's Thursday night applause for these workers during the COVID-19 coronavirus situation. What do you think of it? Much-needed illustration of fantastic public response for the common good, or a reminder that the NHS - which many believe to have become catastrophically under-funded - is not a charity, with the phrase 'give them a real hand' adding poignancy? Neither or both?
