Well known for its catchphrase. 'Because you're worth it', French personal care company L'Oreal captured limelight (and a gong) at the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2019 with a piece of wearable tech that enables the user to caculate their skin's pH. Our skin is naturally acidic and its pH - the optimum is generally considered to be between about 4.5 and 5.5 - affects how it stays hydrated and ages, as well as its resistance to infection and effectiveness at healing. Are you thinking wow, awesome - I gotta get that and download the app NOW? Or, yawn, pass me a piece of litmus paper and I'll test it that way if I want to?
